Peace, Relaxation, Flexibility: The Perfect Mother’s Day Gifts

When looking to patronize an unfamiliar business, seeking to embark on a new adventure or travel to an exotic destination, one of the first things people do is to get advice from family, friends and/or online reviews.
Most typically venues chosen are ones that get the most positive comments and receive the highest marks among candidates. So, if there is a business your friends love and it’s also rated through Tripadvisor 312 times, earning 288 excellent, 22 very good, only 3 average, and zero poor or terrible marks, I’m betting that is a business you would frequent. The Salt Cave And Spa in White Sulphur Springs is the very business rated so highly.
One visitor to the Salt Cave notes, “My daughter treated me to a mother/daughter massage and let me say the experience was fabulous. I had Camie A. as my therapist. She is remarkable!! The service and atmosphere is well worth the visit. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to be pampered.”
The concept of a relaxing experience is perfect to give as a Mother’s Day gift. The spa offers services to soothe any mother, or mother-to-be and encourages couples to enjoy a pampering experience together.
Facial packages even provide “Mother’s Glow” using “gentle and organic prenatal products” to “safely nurture the unique needs of the skin of a mother-to-be.”
Pampering is what The Salt Cave does through numerous services including:
Salt/Halotherapy – According to The Salt Therapy Association, “Scientific research has found that inhaled dry salt particles have bactericide, mucokinetic, hydrophilic and anti-inflammatory properties, which may help to reduce inflammation in the entire respiratory tract and widen the airway passages.”
Yoga In The Cave and Vinyasa/Kundalini Yoga – The Spa invites clients to “Immerse yourself in the healing environment of the Salt Cave by gently opening your body through yoga. These classes are designed to heighten all of our senses through deepening our breathing and gently moving our bodies through a dynamic relationship to the air, shape and textures of the Salt Cave.”

Reiki – “The Journey Within – Reiki is a form of alternative therapy or energy healing. It is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation. It is administered by ‘laying on hands’ and is based on the idea that an unseen life force energy flows through us. Reiki is a simple, natural, and safe method of spiritual healing. It also works in conjunction with all other medical techniques. Reiki does not have a religious affiliation.”
The Salt Cave And Spa focuses on overall wellness with a “complementary consultation for those in need of detoxification at the cellular level, nutritional guidance and overall emotional and physical balance.”
For those seeking a different type of therapy, the BioMat could be just the thing. A BioMat “is a high-quality infrared heating mat used in healing practices all over the world to help the body heal naturally. The core of the BioMat’s technology is the combination of three healing components: far infrared light, negative ions and amethyst crystals.”
Interested in more than a day trip? The Salt Cave and Spa also provides lodging, “Great for a couples getaway, girls spa trip or large groups.”
One overnight guest shared this experience stating, “My mom and I planned a girls getaway to Lewisburg and to the Salt Cave And Spa. We indulged and treated ourselves to the Cave Escape, an all day experience from head to toe. Our LMTs, Cami and Sierra, were very delightful with great personalities fit for the job. Our morning began with a foot soak in salt and flower petals in a copper bowl where we sat and enjoyed our vegetable/cheese and cracker tray, hummus, and berry smoothies. Next was a foot massage, reflexology and body scrub. After a quick shower, we were escorted to an amazing lunch of delicious burgers and potato wedges in the café. Next was our full-body massage. It was honestly the best I have ever had. Cami focused on the areas of concern and worked out some major knots! Sierra was very attentive to my mom’s needs, too. The facial was amazing! Our spa day ended with a strawberry trifle dessert which was delicious and a seat in the salt cave for 45 minutes, which was a unique experience. It was truly a day of pampering. We will be back!”
The Spa is currently offering a Mother’s Day Peace Within special for 10% off package services.

“Perfect for every mom, our Peace Within package starts with a luxurious foot soak, followed by an 80 minute Hawaiian facial and Swedish massage,” said Raven, the spa’s manager of operations. “Pampering from head to toe for current moms or the mother-to-be!”
