Jousting, juggling and dressing up

LEWISBURG – Have you ever dreamed of knights competing for the honor of their kingdoms, or unicorns peacefully grazing in the field? Do you want to try axe-throwing, watch fire-breathing or eat your fill of meat pies and pints of ale? If so, then the annual West Virginia Renaissance Festival is for you. Every Saturday and Sunday in June, the Renaissance Festival will bring this entertainment to crowds of interested guests. Each weekend has its own theme, and each act is original and exciting.

Comedy is covered, with acts like the outrageously hilarious Hey Nunnie Nunnie or the Washing Well Wenches. Equestrian Chaos and the longest-running jousting show, Jousting Knights and Steeds, will shock you with their horse-riding antics. Along with that and the other skills on display each weekend, whimsical characters wander the fields sparking the imaginations of festival-goers. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, you’ll get to try some of Greenbrier County’s delicious local cuisine and check out some interesting handmade work from local and visiting artists.

With themed foods and entertainment, costume contests, and artists and vendors all around offering original work, there’s just too much fun for one day. You won’t have any choice but to return for more themed entertainment. Coming each weekend through June, visit wvrenfest.com to check prices, purchase advance tickets or see all the fun that awaits you.
