Join the City of Covington for a Flat Footin’ Good Time at the River Rock Amphitheatre!
COVINGTON (DayTripper) – The City of Covington Parks and Recreation invites you to join them on Saturday, June 24, for a Flat Footin Good Time. Allen Dressler, Director of Parks and Recreation, states, “It will be an afternoon and evening of awesome bluegrass music with all the musical talent that is coming to the River Rock Amphitheatre on Saturday.”
The event kicks off at 1 p.m. with the band Eyes on Him from Bolar, Virginia. This group will be providing us with some bluegrass and gospel music. At 2:30 p.m., the very talented group New Standard will provide us with a very energetic bluegrass show. This group of young men will also provide several gospel tunes throughout their performance. The members of New Standard are from Bedford to Southwest Virginia and have been playing and recording music together for several years.
At 4:30 p.m., the local group from Bath County, Southern Rail Express, will take the stage. This talented group will be providing the crowd with some good bluegrass music. They have recorded several CDs and traveled all over Virginia performing. At 7 p.m., the talented Nothin Fancy returns to the RiverRock Amphitheatre to provide the crowd with some excellent bluegrass music. They have won the SPBGMA’s Entertaining Group of the Year six times.
Concessions will be available from JKK Concessions, Flurries, Puff’s BBQ and Nowhere Brewing. Come out and join us for this free event.
