Hidden gem in the Alleghany Highlands Caffé Museo a destination to experience in Clifton Forge

CLIFTON FORGE, Va. (VR) – The small town of Clifton Forge, nestled in the Alleghany Highlands of Virginia, has done it again. Caffé Museo offers the feel of a European bistro while surrounded by the beauty of the Alleghany Highlands – plus another unexpected surprise.

Caffé Museo opened in October 2019 serving coffee from some of the most highly respected roasters in the specialty coffee sector. The shop offers black coffee for the purist as well as those creamy, sweet lattes for those who crave coffee that is an indulgence. It is a place to meet, to relax, to chat. Caffé Museo is a step above the typical community coffee shop by offering healthy choices, breakfast all day, custom-made Paninis, and beverages made to suit. It is a destination and provides experience.

The name gives a hint to the Caffe’s unique experience. Caffé Museo is Italian for Coffee Museum. This unique café is also home to The Museum of Antique Coffee Mills, the only museum of its kind in the United States. The owner is a member of ACME (the Association of Coffee Mill Enthusiasts), the US based collectors’ club devoted to this unique area of collecting. The club was founded in 1994 for the purpose of preserving the history and to encourage the collection of domestic and international antique coffee mills. Judith has served as an officer or board member for 25 years.

Owner Judith Sivonda says, “My watchwords are nothing but the best. This standard has guided me in building a quality collection and guides me in food and drink selections for our customers. I was energized by the positive changes I have seen in town. Our unique museum and coffee bar creates community for our neighbors and a destination for visitors to the Alleghany Highlands.”

Caffé Museo and the Museum of Antique Coffee Mills combine to create a tourist destination, an educational experience, and a community for travelers, visitors, and neighbors. A must “experience” this fall as visitors flock to the Alleghany Highlands to enjoy the colors of the season.

Plan you trip to Caffé Museo – Museum of Antique Coffee Mills & Coffee Bar located at 509 East Ridgeway St., Clifton Forge, VA 24422
